What is BPPV?

Benign positional vertigo, or benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, or BPPV is due to crystals building up in the inner ear. Occasionally some crystals drop in that part of the inner ear and so when you move your head, they rattle inside the inner ear, giving the brain the impression that you are spinning fast.
