“Queen Square in the News” – Dr Simon Kirwilliam contributes to a National story on Stroke Recovery
This month, Queen Square Clinical Psychologist Dr Simon Kirwilliam contributed to a news article on rehabilitation following stroke, which was featured in a number of National online publications.
The story focusses on new research which shows the strongest links yet between physical activity training and improving cognitive function in stroke patients.
Dr Kirwilliam explains that “many studies have demonstrated improved cognition with increased exercise among healthy individuals.” He continues to explain that “this new meta-analyses confirms the anecdotal evidence that we see with our patients that remain more active, and certainly should be considered as part of the rehabilitation process post-stroke.”
