What are the DVLA rules with epilepsy?

The DVLA only worry about whether an individual patient is seizure free. As long as the patient has been seizure free for 12 months or in certain circumstances, if their seizures are just restricted to the night time during sleep, a patient will be able to drive. This is independent of whether they’re taking medicines so a patient may be still taking anti epileptic medicine but as long as they are seizure free, they’re going to be able to drive according to the DVLA assessments.
